Campers ChoiceMost day camps have a set curriculum of activities that all campers are required to adhere to. In essence, its one size fits all. That doesn’t always work for campers in this age group who crave independence and are focused on exploring their individuality. Each Monday, your camper will select three program areas that they would like to learn more about. Over the next four days, they will engage in activities that build upon the previous day’s adventure. Some of the activities offered include: swimming, ski boat rides, archery, horseback riding, canoeing/boating, outdoor cooking, group games, nature exploration, camp crafts, hiking, sports, BB’s, fishing, drama/skits, theme weeks such as “Clash of the Olympians” and many more! Activities offered exclusively for Camper’s Choice Campers include: water skiing/tubing, marksmanship, horse husbandry, craftsmanship, jewelry making, cricket, drama/theater, dance, music, knitting, lacrosse, soccer, sailing, crafts, mosaics, and unique YMCA themes such as “Going Green and Surviving Camp.”
A Day at YMCA Camp on the LakeWhile your camper will certainly enjoy the new activities and programs added weekly, what they will remember most are the new experiences and friendships developed throughout the summer.
